What are Snow Socks?

Snow Socks are the tire covers made of special fabric with the superior Grips on snowy icy roads. Due to light weight and flexibility, installation and removal are easy, and they give you quieter and more comfortable driving than the traditional snow chains.

Easy to use

Check the front and back side(it has a label tag on the backside). Be sure to install on the tire from the top of the drive wheel while holding the rubber part firmly to set the front side as the outside. It is easier if you start from the back of the tire.
Hang it firmly on the side wall of the back of the tire and install downward to cover the tire more than half. Set the Snow Socks with no bent and put the rubber between Tire and Tire wheel.
Move the car forward approximately half a rotation of the tire, to move the uncovered part of the tire upward, and cover the rest of the tire to the back in the same way. Rubber of the Snow Sock might look as an orval or irregular circle seen from the side.
Drive approximately 100 to 200 meters at a speed of 10 km/h or less to check the installation surely. Looking from the side, it is OK if the rubber part of the Snow Socks looks like a circle. In the case of an oval or irregular circle, you need to move it out and install it again from the first step.

How to remove

To remove it, please pull it out from the back of the tire, remove downward. For the part under the tire, please do not force them to be removed. Move the car forward/backward a half of the tire, and try to remove them again.

There is a case an emergency announcement as "Chain Required" is called due to heavy snow, it is the regulation that cars without snow chains are not allowed to drive. If the "Chain Required" announcement is called, cars with only snow tires can not drive on the designated roads. Snow Socks are applicable for "Chain Required" regulations. Being with the Snow Socks will be the solution for sudden regulation changes. You can receive the Snow Socks at the designated convenience stores in the Airport Terminals or nearby the airports. Installing must be done by the customers.

Can I use the Snow Socks repeatedly?: You may use the Snow Socks repeatedly. However if it has a big tear or hole(approximately 3 cm or bigger), please do not use it, since it might not have a sufficient function to avoid a slip. Please note that once it is damaged, it can not be fixed.

Can I waste the Snow Socks in a trash bin?: It can be disposed as flammable trash.

Is there the speed limit while driving with Snow Socks installed?: Please refrain from driving at 40 km/h or faster when installing the Snow Socks.

Can I drive on dry roads without snow while installing the Snow Socks?: You may drive on dry roads without snow up to the approximately distance 100km (50km for a thinner type). However we do not recommend you to drive on dry roads without snow while installing them.

Must I remove the Snow Socks while parking overnight?: Please remove them from the tires when you park for hours in low temperature, since there is a case of destruction when you start the car again.

What should I do if my Snow Socks destroy the rented car?: Compensation fee is incurred in case the reason for the car being destroyed is your installation was not appropriate.

Please drive at 40 km/h or slower while driving with the Snow Socks.
We do not accept returns or exchanges after purchase.
Please refrain from sudden starts, sudden braking, sudden steering, or turning the steering wheel while stopped, since those may destroy the Snow Socks.
Please check the conditions of the Snow Socks regularly while driving with them, to know a tear or damage incurred.
You may drive on dry roads without snow up to the approximately distance 100km (50km for a thinner type). However we do not recommend you to drive on dry roads without snow while installing them. Please be sure to remove the Snow Socks when you drive on dry roads for a while. Please refrain from driving on rough roads as gravel roads.
Please be sure to remove the Snow Socks from the car when you park for a long time in low temperature, since the Snow Socks might be destroyed when you start again due to being freezed and stuck to the road.
You must install and remove the Snow Socks yourself. Your car rental staff does NOT help installing or removing.
